THE TECH STACK
Every 4 Flames combine runs on professional-grade, calibrated equipment — the same tools used across every event so your numbers are always comparable, no matter where or when you test.

VALD Timing Systems — Electronic precision sprint times across 10, 20, and 40 yards. No stopwatch error. True reads on game speed, first-step burst, and baserunning acceleration.

Bowers Timing System — Captures the 5-10-5 Pro Agility Shuttle, isolating lateral quickness and change-of-direction ability — the movement behind every defensive reaction on the diamond.

Just Jump by Probotics — Force mat vertical jump. One of the strongest indicators of lower-body explosiveness, which directly fuels bat speed, throwing power, and first-step acceleration.

Pocket Radar — Exit velocity and overhand throwing velocity accurate to within 1 MPH. Exit velo is the most sought-after hitting metric in college softball recruiting.

Blast Motion — Bat speed sensors independent of exit velocity — identifying swing mechanics and coachable upside even when contact is still developing.

Grip Dynamometer — Functional grip strength tied directly to bat control, throwing accuracy under fatigue, and upper-body durability.
PitchLogic — Pitcher-specific evaluation capturing velocity, spin rate, spin efficiency, horizontal and vertical movement, and spin-to-velocity ratio across multiple pitch types. Pitchers get a standalone performance profile separate from the base combine score.
Broad Jump + Rotational Med Ball Toss — Horizontal explosiveness and core rotational power — the engine behind every swing, throw, and pitch.
HOW DATA FLOWS
All data is collected in real time on-site using dedicated mobile devices with redundant cellular connectivity — zero data loss in any tournament environment. Results flow through Virtual Combine, powering real-time scoring and live leaderboards throughout the event. Coaches, players, and parents access scores instantly via QR code on-site while digital leaderboards drive a competitive, data-driven atmosphere at the venue.
THE THREE PERFORMANCE INDICES
Every athlete is scored across three standardized categories:
SPI (Speed Performance Indicators) — 10-yard dash, 20-yard dash, 40-yard dash, 5-10-5 agility
OPI (Offensive Performance Indicators) — Exit velocity, bat speed, rotational med ball toss
API (Athletic Performance Indicators) — Broad jump, vertical jump, grip strength, wingspan, overhand throwing velocity

Every athlete receives a comprehensive performance report with an individual combine ranking and a national ranking that compares performance against athletes tested at all EIS / 4FA events throughout the season.
